Thank Goodness It's Friday!

Phew!

The first week of school is now officially behind me, it can only get better from here...... LOL

It has been a very busy week in the Follett household, Connor started at Pre Prep this week - and I must say, both places he is attending are really impressive.

On Thursday he went off to Pre Prep at Whitsunday Anglican School, he looked like such a big boy, both his Dad and I got all teary......

On Australia Day, we had a really quiet day, the weather wasn't the best, and I had heaps of work to do to get ready for school the next day!

I did manage to take this rather crazy photo of Connor, though - he is turning into a real little personality! LOL

Well that's all for now - I'm determined to do some scrapping tonight - my reward for my first week of work! LOL

WooHoo!!!!

I am so excited!

A couple of weeks ago, the lovely Karen at Scrapbooknbits put up a call for a new Design Team Position.

I decided to go for it, even though I really didn't think I'd have a chance, I thought the experience would be good.

Imagine my surprise when, after submitting 2 layouts and 1 OTP, I got an email from Karen advising me that I'd been selected in the top 5!

The other ladies selected - Linda, Kylie, Melissah and Kelley, are just so talented, and I know their entries, and the entries of all the other hopefuls would have been soooo good.....

The next stage involved completing a colour challenge that Karen set. I was so happy that the colours were colours I love using, so I had a lot of pp to choose from......

This is the Layout I chose to do, using some of the Fancy Pants About a Boy range...:

Well, on Tuesday, I got a HUGE surprise when I received an email from Karen offering me a position on the Design Team! You could have knocked me down with a feather!
I am feeling super excited, but also a little sick - I hope I will live up to the high standards at SnB.....
Congratulations Melissa, too, who also got a position on the Design Team....
And to Kylie, Kelley and Linda - Well done, I know how good your entries would have been, because everything you do is just so creative!
Thank you, Karen, I am so looking forward to working with everyone at SnB!

Happy Birthday Mum!

It's my Mum's birthday today, happy birthday, Mumma!
I was a bit sad because I wanted to go and visit Mum for her birthday, but it was just too close to when I go back to school, so would be really hard to do organisation wise....
I cheered up, though, when I found out her best friend, Aunty Lyn was visiting. These ladies have had such a wonderful friendship, it is amazing that it has lasted nearly 39 years!!!! It's a tribute to them, really, because their lives have certainly not been static in that time!
I love how they are always there for each other, and look at most situations with such humour and good spirits!
Here is a Layout I did as a bit of a tribute to the two women who have influenced my life so much.....

I've also been doing a little bit mor scrapping wise, I made another layout using some of the Prima Little Guy Papers. I love this photo of Connor, he has grown up so much - certainly no longer a baby!

I was inspired to make these fridge magnets by the cover of Creative Keepsakes magazine. I love this fresh, whimsical range from Sassafrass Lass.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

2 Awards....Me!!!!!

I've received 2 Awards in two days. Thanks ladies, I feel very special! ;0)
The first one is from the lovely Ness it's called a proximity award.
"These blogs believe and invest in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated.
Ok, well I am very new to this blogging thing and I have NO Idea how to put the picture of the award on this post :0(
But I can nominate eight more people for this award:
My lovely friend Karen - I will be forever grateful for her introducing me to this beautiful craft
The very talented Marni - Always has a friendly smile for people.
The gorgeous Julie - for providing laughs daily.
The ever - happy Kylie - for her charming and friendly nature.
Malinda - So helpful and kind. I love the way she seems to know "stuff" especially about computers.....
Well, I'm supposed to give out 8 awards, but sadly, I don't know many bloggers, :0(and the other people I know have already been given an award.

Thanks for this award, Ness, it really brought a smile to my face. Hugs to you!

I also got an award from the lovely Kylie: A Kreative Blogger Award. Thanks so much, Kylie, I feel very honoured! Hugs to you, chicky!
I can nominate 5 people for this award:
We have had a very beachy few days. The weather has not been the best to say the least, so we decided to make the best of the sunshiney days while we have them!
On Friday we went for prawns at our local fish market, and we went to Eimeo Beach for a picnic. Sadly, there was a yellow flag due to stingers, so we didn't go in the water. Connor still had a ball playing on the playground and exploring the rock pools.

Today we went on what is a favourite family outing. We went to the Mackay Harbour and had fish and chips next to the water. Afterwards we went to Harbour Beach, but AGAIN the beach was closed due to stingers. Aggghhhh! I s'pose that's what you get when you live in Nth Qld! LOL.

Undeterred, Connor played on the playground there, then we went home where he had some wet play with the hose!

Finally, here is a LO I did the other day - I love the bright happy Cosmo Cricket Papers - I think they are You Are My Sunshine.

The LO is a bit different for me, decided to do a bit of experimenting. Not sure if I was successful, though! LOL

Time Flies!

I'm such a naughty blogger!

I just looked at the date of my last post, and it has been two weeks! Eeek!
Oh dear, I promised myself I would post every few days, but, well, as usual time has gotten away from me! My bad!!!!

We have been away - we went down to Bribie Island to visit Mark's Mum and Dad.

We had a lovely time, Connor had an absolute ball - he loves the beach, and we also went to Australia Zoo - I don't think I have ever seen him so excited for so long! He fed elepahants, saw Bindi, Bob and Terri during the Crocoseum show, saw tigers, koalas - well, just so many animals! What a fantastic day!

Here are some pics of our holiday!

Connor on a Tortoise Statue at Australia Zoo!

When I look at this photo, I don't know who had more fun, Mark or Connor! LOL!

And just look at this gorgeous creature! What a magnificent animal, I don't know how people can hunt them......

Here is Connor at the beach - a budding l'il surfer if ever I saw one!

(I can't wait to scrap the photo above! LOL) The lovely Linda from Scrapbooknbits has a copy atm, we are participating in a photo swap - a great idea, organised by Scraphappy Kylie. I have a fantastic shot of her son on his motorbike - a great action shot, which I also can't wait to scrap! Linda is a very talented scrapper, so I'm sure she'll do a wonderful job!

Finally, some shares, my gorgeous niece Elyse is expecting a bub in August.

I've made a pregnancy diary for her to recored all the special moments.

I got some help from my lovely friends on the forum at ScrapbooknBits, and I'm actually really pleased with how it turned out.

Wish I'd started scrappin before I had Connor!

Oh Maaan!

And finally, I did this LO as part of Scrapbook Creations Blind Scrap Challenge, run by Jolene Pienaar - Unfortunately, I ran out of time to upload it, so I could email it away!

D'oh!

I used some yummo paper from Prima's Get Happy Range - the rubons and stickers are also from that range. I love all the bright, cheerful colours!
That's enough from me, anyway, I hope to be back tomorrow with more shares and news!

Happy New Year!

Wow!

Happy New Year Everyone, from the Follett Family to You and Yours!

It's hard to believe that it is now 2009 - where did last year go? For that matter, where has the last decade gone?????
Well, a lot has happened since my last post. Mark and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on the 21st, but I think it was so close to xmas, and we were so busy, I think we blinked and barely managed a "happy anniversary" between us! LOL!
Xmas was lovely, Mum, Dad and Nanna - God bless her- made the trip up here to spend xmas with us. It was a lovely day, and we all thoroughly spoilt each other!
Our little man was so excited, this was the first year he knew about Santa, and had worked out the whole present thing, so it was wonderful to watch him!
Here is our tree just after Santa visited:

Here is Connor in the throws of present unwrapping Christmas morning - Just a delight to watch!

Our dear big boy on his bike - so happy!

Finally, here are some more xmas cards I made - a bit late, I know, but just thought I'd share!
