April Scrap The Boys

Honestly, I really do have to get my act together and post on my blog more regularly....oh well, will keep trying - maybe one day I will!
This month on Scrap the Boys was a challenge very close to my heart - using flowers on a boy's layout.
Now, I know some of you really don't like doing this at all, but I find I have been kinda forced to.  You see, I am a girly girl - I love vintage, I love retro, I love pretties, and I especially LOVE flowers. Problem is, I am a mum to one VERY rough and tumble boy.  Not many opportunities to use my pretties on his layouts, I can assure you.  So, when I do come across a photo that can stand a bit of "girly treatment" I tend to go all out, much to Connor's disgust....hehe.

So, here is the official Scrap The Boys Challenge:

CHALLENGE- Use Flowers on a Boy Layout

Can you see now why this Challenge was just right up my ally?  As you can see, I added flowers, and also gave it a really mixed media work out by adding Texture Paste, Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays, Gelatos, Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Sprays and Colour Box Mix'd Media Inx.
The range is Fab Scrap's Enchanted Garden Range - and I used the two Blue Heron papers in the line.

I really love how it all turned out, in real life the colours blend together so well, and there is so much texture and so many layers.

Here are a couple of close ups:

So, there you have it - another challenge done, I must say I am loving this no-commitment scrapping, it is like having a new lease of life!

Why don't you pop by Scrap The Boys and join in the fun too - if you are a boy scrapper like me you will probably LOVE the opportunity to use some pretties too!
You have until the end of this month to enter.

Cheers!

Scrap The Boys

Hi everyone,
Well, I am back - not such a break this time, but still fairly large.....
Today I am sharing my interpretation of the Scrap the Boys March Challenge.

This month at Scrap The Boys we cant you to create a layout using a typically ‘boy’ colour combination. So get creating and link up your layouts using:
COLOUR COMBOGREENBLUE & YELLOW
Our fabulous Design team has creating the most amazing layouts for inspiration. Some have focussed on one colour and added small amounts of the other colours, while others have a splendid mix of all three.

Fairly easy, I thought.  This is what I came up with:

I am experimenting with mixed media at the moment.  I love the look of all the layers and textures, so I am trying to perfect the technique.  Starting to get the hang of it - and I really like how this one turned out.....

Here are some close up - I mainly used the new Crate Paper's Boy's Rule range.....

Thanks for popping by - hope you have a lovely day.  I intend to spend today scrapping and generally relaxing..if small boy will allow it...

Scrap 365 Sketch

Hi folks
Long time hey - I can't believe it, I actually scrapped!
Unbelievable!
Last night, I had itchy scrapping hands, but just couldn't find the inspiration to do anything about it.  So I went looking for some Challenges.
I found the Scrap 365 Sketch challenge, and was blown away by Raquel Bowman's gorgeous sample, so I decided to give it a go!

Here is my sample:

Here are some close ups - I used Crate Paper's "The Pier" range.  It has such gorgeous muted colours and Kraft papers - I though they would go beautifully with my photos.

Well, that's it from me - really hope I am back again a LOT sooner with more layouts!
