Sketch Challenge At Anna's

I've managed to do this month's sketch challenge over at Anna's Craft Cupboard.
I always love the sketches the talented Wendy Smith creates, and this sketch was no exception:

Here is my interpretation of the Sketch:

Photos are of Connor, his Dad and his Pop - 3 generations enjoying the miniture train rides on Bribie Island.
I've used to very bright and colourful Bo Bunny "On the Go" range, and added a light smear of texture paste using the Crafter's Workshop Template - Chicken Wire, then coloured it with Tattered Angels glimmermist - Coffee Shop, just to add some extra depth and dimension.
Did you know you can "paint" with Glimmermist?  That's what I did here - I just sprayed some into the cap, then used a paintbrush to add it to the texture paste - that way, I just got it where I wanted it, not sprayed all over the paper!!
Of course, a layout simply would not be complete without some WOW - Words or Whatever chipboard.  I have used the Cog Frame Set - C819 which has been sprayed in Tattered Angels Glimmermist - Coffee Shop, and had some Prima Chalk Ink (a rusty orange) added in spots to add depth.
I also used the Cog Set Plain C729 which has been inked in the same rusty orange Prima Chalk Ink.
Here is a close up of the altered chipboard:

Well that's it from me for now - hope you all enjoy your day!!  This little chicken is going to do some housework, then hopefully head to her scrap table!

Something New!

Hi,
Well, as promised I’m back this morning with more scrappy shares.
This month, for something different, I decided to give the sketch challenge over at Handmade By Suzanne.
Here is the gorgeous sketch:
MarchSketch HBS
This is what I did – as you can see,  I rotated it to suit a landscape photo,  and then because I wasn’t happy with where the title should have been once it was rotated, I played a bit with the elements to make it “balance” properly in my OCD mind…lol..
IMG_6046
I also used some WOW chippy – the Vine Set RWL367 and the Mini Alchemy Blooms LB049.  I covered them in Perfect Pearls to give a lovely pearly shimmer, and added a little Kaisercraft Pearl to the blooms.
Here is a close - up of the chipboard:

That’s it from me for now – have a heap of housework to do today, and I have a small boy hanging out to use the computer..lol..
Cheers!

MME Sketch Competition!

Finally found some time to do the fabbo sketch challenge over at the MME Blog.

Here is the sketch:

March Sketch MME

This is what I did with it.. ..

Dream

I did rotate it, to suit the background paper, but I think you can definitely see the sketch still there.

Used the ultra ultra gorgeous Follow Your Heart Range.  I know I say this a lot – hehe, but this is one of my favourite ranges – this time it would be one of my favourite all-time ranges.  I just adore the colours, the designs..all the cute little elements…LOVE!!!

I’ve been experimenting with mixed media of late, and this layout has some gesso applied – by my fingertips, using a brick mask.  I then sprayed the background with a few mists…. added some muslin, then “hey presto!” – A unique background is created!

Here are some close-ups of my clusters:

Well, that’s it from me – time for me to turn in for the night,  I’ll be back tomorrow with some more things to share.

Night!

Frosted Designs Challenge–Grids

Hi everyone,

The Fabulous Friday Challenge is up again over on the Frosted Designs Challenge Site.

This week, the challenge is to use Grids – anyway you want, really.  The Design Team have come up with some fantastic ways to use grids on projects, cards and layouts.

This is what I did:

Grid-Project

It was my turn to do a project this week – so I decided to do a mixed media canvas for Connor’s room.  I used the colours and theme of the room for inspiration, and of course – don’t you just love the Dr Seuss quote?  I love Dr Seuss, and this quote is perfect for my rather individual little man!!  LOL!

The grid elements are in the stamping (Tim Holtz Ultimate Grunge), the Washi Tape and the Thickers.

I have used a WOW Altamatz  ALTA022 to add Texture Paste Chevrons.

Here is a close up!

IMG_6042

The Altamatz are just so amazing for adding texture paste – they are such good quality, and much thicker than other templates.  I just used my finger to smear some texture paste onto my canvas – and I didn’t have to worry about the plastic moving or buckling in any way, because it is so thick!

I highly recommend these – you have to get onto your Scrapbooking Retailer to get some in, you will love them!

Cheers!

Some WOW Inspiration

The WOW Blog has some more gorgeous inspiration up again.
Saturday was the day for the Inspiration and Design Team post – of course, all the ladies had some super projects ready to inspire you Smile
This is what I did:
IMG_5769
I used the Rectangle Star Frame RWL91 and covered it in white paint and added Distress Stickles in Crystal to add a nice Christmassy shine.
Here is a close up:

Don't forget to also check out the amazing new Challenge Blog CSI - Colours/Stories/Inspiration...
WOW Chipboard are sponsoring it this month - and I did last week's case file.  This is what we were given to inspire us:

This is what I did, I used one of my favourite photos of Connor - at last year's School's Sports day, just because the colours fit so well.

I journalled about all the little personality traits of his I love - he really is the sweetest, kindest boy, and has such a quirky sense of humour - totally gets that from his father...lol...
I used WOW Splat Pack C654 which I painted red, and outlined with some doodling to make them "pop."

That's it from me for now, hope you enjoy your week – it’s a wet one here in Mackay, so I think I’ll be spending most of it scrapping….what a shame…lol…
Cheers Smile

I am loving WOW’s Altamatz

The lovely Suzanne from WOW sent me some gorgeous new Altamatz to play with last week, and I just wanted to share what I’ve done so far:
This layout is done with a 12x12 Zebra Stripe ALTA007:
IMG_6040
I misted the background with Tattered Angels Marshmallow and I’ve also used Vine Set RWL367 and Block Capitals C1388.  I’ve used Distress Stain in Forest Moss to add some colour, then used Distress Emboss Powder in Shabby Shutters to give a bit of texture.
Here is a close up:
IMG_6041
I also got the 6x6 Chevron Wide ALTA024.
I loved this one, and thought it would be fantastic on a boy’s layout, so I used it as a mask to add texture paste to this layout:
My-Favourite-Boy
First, I used Distress Stain in Picket Fence to whitewash the background, then I added the texture paste using my Altamatz Chevron Wide Alta 024.  Next I sprayed the background with Tattered Angels Glimmermist in Black Gold to give it a grey shimmer.
Here is a closie:

Love the effect – lots of texture and dimension.
After playing with these two Altamatz my verdict is that these are amazing!
I love the thicker plastic – makes it so much easier to use with sprays and pastes, and I love how the plastic is clear – it is so much easier to know exactly where to place them…  you HAVE to get your LSS or Online store to get them in NOW…….
Off to play with another Altamatz today – so I’ll share that one too, when I am done…lol
Cheers, thank you for visiting my blog!

Well Here It Is…..

My first sample done for the fantastic Frosted Designs Challenge Blog.  I am on one of the Fabulous Friday Teams, and this weeks challenge is to use Kraft on your project.

This is what I did:

Our-Song

When I first saw the layered sticker with the lyrics to “Here Comes The Sun” by George Harrison – I just knew I had to do a layout about how that is my husband’s and my special song for a little boy.

It began when Connor was only a few days old, and I was pacing the hospital room with him screaming, almost delirious from lack of sleep (yes…ALREADY!!) I noticed the sun coming up, and started to sing it to him – it calmed him down, and  I quickly learn that singing any sweet toned song to him was calming….  But that song just stuck…

I also couldn’t resist adding some WOW – Words or Whatever chippy to the layout.  I’ve used Block Capital Uppercase C1388 as part of my title.  I’ve inked it in yellow chalk ink to match.

Here is a closie:

Speaking of WOW – Wendy has another fantastic Inspiration Post up on the Blog

Here is the layout I did for it:

IMG_6023

On this layout I've used the saying "Boys Will Be Boys" C1447. I've embossed the saying with Opals - Lemon Thyme, then added some Yellow Chalk Ink to alter the colours slightly to match.
I've also used Cog Frame Set C819 - Inked with Distress Ink in Chipped Sapphire.

Here is a close-up of the altered chipboard:

IMG_6024

This paper range is one of my favourite go-tos at the moment – Echo Park Boy’s Life – just love the bright colours, they are perfect for boy’s pages!

Photos are of Connor in his Pop’s pedal car – genuine vintage that one..lol….

Well, that’s it for me, going to finish my wine, have a shower then play with some paper Smile

Got some BRAND NEW Altamatz  from WOW to play with – feeling super lucky, and I’ll share when I’m done!

I have used Block Capital Alphabet C1388, Cog Set Plain C729,  Bookplates Assorted C580 and the Ornate 2D Window C808.

Here are some close – ups:

I backed the Ornate 2D window with some vintage book paper, and inked the frame in Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Chipped Saphire.

IMG_6022

Here, the Book Plate has been backed in paper, and the frame inked in the Chipped Saphire again.  I added some brads to the corners, and distressed them with my Tim Holtz Texture Hammer.

The Cogs were inked in Tim Holtz Distress Ink Bundled Sage, then I added some stickles in Picket Fence for a bit of bling.

Thank you for visiting my blog – I love comments, so don’t forget to leave one!!
