End of the month....

Well the end of the October is upon us - Eeeeeeep! I have been a busy little scrapping bee this month - just slack with the uploads, LOL!
This one I did for Puzzle Sketches

This one is for the 123 Challenge. The challenge is to use at least 5 Patterned paper, a Black and White Photo and Colour Photo, and lots of tearing and scrunching. I did a layout about my dear little boy always bringing me photos from our garden.......

This one is for the White With 1 challenge - Challenge was to use White, Duck Egg Blue, and Distressing. I used some MME paper - you can get it from SnB here.
I had a bit of fun with a couple of techniques here. I stamped and embossed the cardstock, mainly to add a little bit of interest. I also stamped a frame around the photo - using the same stamp I used to emboss the cardstock.

Finally, this challenge I did for WIOIN - it was a gorgeous sketch, and I used this month's kit to do it - I just loved how this turned out. Trouble is, I forgot to use patterned paper as a background! D'oh!

Oh well, it is getting late, so I am going to head off to bed, me thinks!

Let's Get Shabby Challenge

Here is the challenge layout I did for the challenge over at Let's Get Shabby.

This is my very dapper looking Pa, at age about 19, circa 1933.

This was an era where everyone got dressed up just to "Go To Town" Note the ladies in the background with hats and gloves on???

I even remember my Mum dressing us kids up to go to town - me in a frilly dress, and black patent leather shoes.....

I used some gorgeous "Collage Press" papers. Oooooh, and see that cute little vintage bus ticket? I got it in a kit from What is Old Is New.

TFL - I have loads more to share, just haven't seemed to take myself to my blog page lately - my bad!!!!!!

Will be back later....tonight or tomorrow morning - Promise!!!!

What Are You Doing Tonight???

If, like me, you have a house of boys fascinated with Bathurst this weekend, then head on over to Scrapbooknbits for a fun evening of scrapping! Toni and I will be hosting the evening, there will be a blind scrap, plus some fun games and giveaways!!
By just coming along, popping your name down and joining in with the chit chat, you will go in the running to win a lucky door prize:

This fantastic MME kit has 2 double sided pps, some diecut shapes, a transparency, and a journal card..... Gorgeous! For those of you who have girls, the other sides of the pp are plain, so you could use it for girly layouts :0)

I'm also running the Monthly Challenge over at SnB this month.
You have to use this pattern as your inspiration:

You can use the colours, the pattern, circles..... anything really, so long as you base your layout on this pattern.
I chose to use the colours (as I loooooved them!!!!) but also included some circles in my sample layout:

That's it for me atm, hope to see you tonight at our little soiree at SnB!!

End of Holidays :0(

Well the last day of holidays was spent mainly relaxing. We went to the little trains - a favourite outing for the boys in our house - and I decided to have a little play with my camera. I am having fun at the moment experimenting with the manual settings. Mainly playing with the White Balance, and the ISO in order to acheive varied looks. Finally, Connor is starting to play along a bit, and does a small amount of posing - with some, ummmmm, encouragement, shall we say? LOL!!
I like this photo - I think I will change it to sepia and do some sort of vintagy layout with it.....
I am also fiddling with setting to try and get a lower f-stop on my camera - just so I can achieve that gorgeous out-of-focus edge around portraits - I'm slowly getting there! LOL!

I am doing the October Free class at ScrapbooknBits. Here are a couple of sneak peaks:

I had lots of fun getting nice 'n grungy with this - lots of painting, inking and distressing! Hehe!
The best thing about the free classes is you don't have to buy the kit to participate - but this kit is seriously awesome!! Fantastic value too - at $11.00. You get 3 Double sided WRMK papers, a Prima 12x12 transparency, some chipboard for the album, and chippy shapes..... Oh, and the template for the album ;0)
You only have to supply a few of your own general scrappy supplies. PLUS the class - great value, if you ask me!!
The October challenge has gone up on the Scrap the Boys Challenge Blog.
You have to use this advertisement as your inspiration:

You can interpret this however you please...colours, sketch, circles, surf inspired...whatever
Great challeng hey? Here is my sample - I was mainly inspired by the cool circles, and used some gorgeous Nikki Sivalis paper.

Finally, head on over to Addicted to Craft - they have an awsome 12 Weeks of Christmas Challenge starting up. If you like doing challenges, you should try these out, there are some fantastic prizes up for grabs!!
Pssst - scroll down a bit, and you'll see one of my layouts, plus a little blurb- I was blown away when Angela asked me if she could feature it on the blog - my jaw just hit the ground!!
Oh well, I think I'll head off to bed soonish - I have to get up early for my walk before work!!
STILL trying to keep this health kick of mine going - very tricky when everyone at work ordered Subway for lunch, and I had Tuna and Crackers!
