Some Shares

Well, I've had a lovely Saturday. We haven't gone anywhere, and I've just pottered about the house and have managed to do all my housework, so tomorrow I can just relax - Bliss!!! LOL!

Here are some layouts I did during Linda Eggleton's Buds, Bugs and Brads Online Class at Scrapbooknbits - I really enjoyed this class, and love how the layouts turned out.

I'm going to be teaching my first ever class next month (18 June) - appropriately called "Back To School" LOL! I will be teaching 2 layouts, one off the page, and one surprise! LOL

The kits are $35, and contain enough goodies to make all of this, plus I think another layout, if you add a piece of cardstock ;0). Excellent value, if you ask me!!

Here is a sneaky peak:

Mark's Birthday

Hi Everyone!
Phew! What a busy couple of days we've had! Seems I've blinked and the weekend has just dashed by!!!
It is Mark's birthday today - and boy were we busy!! Why is it that whenever there is a birthday in the house, Connor gets all the treats??? LOL! I guess we both get more delight from watching him have fun than from anything else! LOL!

This morning we went to see the Dufkin replica (The Dufkin was one of the original Dutch vessals that was a spice trader, and stumbled across the north of Aust during a visit to Indonesia - in the early 1600s - actually charted a bit of the coastline!!!!) at the harbour.

Connor thought it was a good idea that he visit the "pirate ship" dressed as a pirate, and here he is, sitting on one of the ship's canons - agghhhrrr!! Soooo cute!!

We then went and got some prawns from the Mackay Fishmarket - we got a kilo of banana prawns - straight off the trawler - for $16.00 - how good is that??? They were yummo too!

This afternoon the Q150 rolled into Mackay station, we were a little disappointed because the promised steam train broke down in Rocky, so we got a "heritage" diesel electric - not quite the same, but the carriages were still beautiful - wrought iron, polished wood - when I was a kid, I'd think these were the bomby carriages, now I see them with completely different eyes - just grand old ladies!

Connor love exploring the carriages - I guess they were soooo different from what he has seen - kinda like a carriage from Thomas the Tank Engine!!! LOL!

Tonight, we just had a nice bbq, and Connor and I made cupcakes for Daddy's birthday cake - Connor's idea, of course! LOL!
Finally, here are some layouts I did as examples for the last Cybercrop challenges over at Scrapbooknbits. If you have never come to a SNB cybercrop, you really should try one - the ladies are so friendly, funny and warm!!!
This was done has a Sketch Challenge - the sketch was taken from Pagemaps
I used what would have to be my top fave range - Cosmo Cricket Snorkel - those little chippy embies are sooo cute!

The criteria for this was a spotty, round background, with 20 brads - I used some fun Basic Grey Lime Rickey Paper, so bright and happy - I just love it!!!

This is a layout I was actually happy with! LOL! I had lots of grungy fun with this layout - using some new WRMK, Prima Felt Matties and rubons and brads.....

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Happy Mother's day, all you wonderful Mum's out there. If there's one thing I've learnt about being a mother, it's that it's the hardest job in the world - but also the most rewarding! I adore being a mother, and it's taught me so much about myself, and has improved me as a person beyond belief......

We had a lovely family day today -Mark made me French Toast for Breaky, which was delicious! Then, we went out to the harbour to the lighthouse for some yummy fish and chips. After that, we were off to the Wiggles concert at the Entertainment Centre.
Sooooo much fun!!! I got the biggest kick watching Connor's little face light up when he saw them come out on stage!!!! Such a hoot!!
Then it was home, I had a nap whilst Connor had his sleep, then it's been scrapping - well, trying to, at least.....
Here are some photos of the day.

Connor and I at the harbour - a self portrait - hehe. I quite like this, I might actually scrap it - hopefully before the end of the year! LOL!

Mark and Connor at the harbour. I love the way these two are always laughing when they are together - they get on so well, hope it stays that way!!!!

Another gorgeous photo worth scrapping - one very happy little boy with all his wiggles souveneers from the concert - LOL

Just a layout I've done this weekend - Connor on the little blue push car at his Nan and Pop's place - he just love playing with this little car!!!
That's it for now, I hope you've all had a lovely day. Goodness knows we deserve it!!! LOL!!!!

Long Weekend

Woohoo!
It's a long weekend up here in Qld, and I must admit, it is lovely......
This morning we did our usual 1st Sunday of the month trek to the little trains. Connor loooooves this little family outing. It's great, they have little trains chuffing around tracks, and with a gold coin donation, you can have a ride - LOADS of fun!

One excited little boy waiting for his train ride!

One of the little trains chuffing about - Connor and Mark are on this one!

I've also had a lovely scrappy weekend, starting with a fantastic Friday Night Crop! I managed to get this LO done

Last week, I also managed to do the challenge for the White With 1 Challenge Blog. The challenge was to use White (Main colour) with one other colour - coral - and journalling on the photo. I adored this challenge. It was the impetus for me to finally play with Photoshop and try something I've wanted to try for a long time:

Finally, it's National Scrapbooking Day!!!! Happy, Happy Day!

If you are looking for some scrappy fun to celebrate this day, head on over to Scrapbooknbits. There are lots of games, a challenge and a prize draw.

I did this layout for the challenge that's on:
